Lance currently serves as a principal analyst at 3Sixty Insights and a leadership and technology columnist for Reworked. Prior to his work as an analyst, journalist, and advisor, Lance spent nearly a decade as an HR practitioner and leader. He started blogging in 2005 and got his first paid writing job for the former career website Vault.com. He transitioned from HR to serve as an editor and community leader at TLNT and SourceCon for ERE Media. He later joined The Starr Conspiracy, eventually leading thought leadership and industry positioning as vice president of market insights. Lance has been featured as an HR and workplace expert in publications including the Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, MSNBC, and Fast Company. He's occasionally tapped as a speaker at industry events, appearing at the SHRM Annual Conference, HR Tech Conference, and the ERE Recruiting Conference. He’s also a regular guest on HR and work-tech podcasts and webinars, where he’s always excited to share new research, interesting stories, or just talk about bigger trends within the intersection of work, life, and technology. He is a proud Washington State University alum and is based in Vancouver, Wash. with his wife and daughter. When he isn't thinking about work, he can be found hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest or enjoying a good craft beer.
