Not your average beverage provider, CLEAN Cause was founded by Wes Hurt after he had seen firsthand the impact of drug and alcohol addiction on the lives of Americans. Now, the company, headquartered in Austin, Texas, distributes a variety of caffeinated Fair Trade tea beverages and electrolyte packets nationwide, attracting active-lifestyle consumers seeking alternative organic products. Fifty percent of CLEAN Cause’s net profits or 5% of net revenues — whichever is greater — funds CLEAN Kickstarts, a housing initiative that bridges the gap between rehab and reintegration, providing support and structure for people in early recovery. In addition to promoting sober living in a safe environment, CLEAN Cause hires employees in recovery, empowering their journey toward a clean start and inspiring others with their resilience and determination.
Cortney Hollinger, director of marketing and human resources for CLEAN Cause, handles Human Capital Management (HCM) for approximately 40 company employees across eight states and helps with human resources for several additional employees for the company’s nonprofit, the Clean Cause Foundation. Hollinger handles special projects and office management duties and supports talent throughout their lifecycle, clearing a path for employees early in their recovery to progress into roles with more responsibility and imparting the opportunities they could pursue to new hires.
