But after sitting with the broader market scan, I do not think the bigger story is really about a protocol. The bigger story is that vendors are competing to become the layer where AI understands business context, retrieves the right information, and triggers action across workflows. Some of that competition is happening through MCP. Some of it is happening through agent studios, context graphs, embedded copilots, AI connectors, and conversational workspaces. The control point may be moving upward.
